While we will remain forever indebted to the pioneers and popularizers of nutritional health research-- people like Dean Ornish, John McDougall, Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, and Joel Fuhrman, among others --it is nice to know that the word is finally beginning to get out to (and through) many of our local physicians, as well!
A case in point is reported by the Fox News affiliate in Houston, TX, from whom we learn about Dr. Baxter Montgomery, a Houston Cardiologist who promotes his own version of a natural, plant-based diet to reverse heart disease and diabetes. Below are links to two brief videos that showcase his work.
In the first video, you will hear Dr. Montgomery discuss his diet and will see the kind of results he is having with his patients:
New Diet Reverses Diabetes, Heart Disease:
"Under the diet, patients eat plant-based foods, minimally processed foods and . . . whole foods, as close to their natural state as possible." [More]
